Childhood Retrospective 001 – Fat Cat Sat Mat

Childhood Retrospective

I wanted to start a regular segment up on this blog and for the life of me I couldn’t think of what to do. But as I was trawling through youtube today I came across some of the old Sesame Street ‘ads’ that played in between the story segments of the show. It was then I thought of ‘Childhood Retrospective‘, it’ll basically be a post I put up every Thursday which will be all about a certain aspect (TV show, game, toy or whatever) of my childhood that I want to revisit, and hey it might bring back memories for other people too. So now onto the first CR.

SESAME STREET – FAT CAT SAT MAT

I was always a big fan of Sesame Street as a kid, and in a way I still am, mostly because I attribute the majority of my learning ability and intelligence to the hours and hours I used to sit in front of the TV watching it. Here is one of the shows ‘ads’ featuring some good ol’ rhyming and Sesame Street humour.

A bit of a PS3 purchase revision

I knew that after I posted that stuff the other day that games would get delayed or others would come to mind…so this is now my revised purchase list for this year…hopefully

07/02/08 – Burnout Paradise
15/02/08 – LOST: Via Domus
08/04/08 – Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
17/04/08 – Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
29/04/08 – Grand Theft Auto IV
07/05/08 – Mafia 2
28/05/08 – Battlefield Bad Company
29/05/08 – Heroes
00/06/08 – Top Spin 3
30/07/08 – Lord of the Rings: The White Council
10/09/08 – Prototype
29/10/08 – Gran Turismo 5
26/11/08 – Call of Duty 5

They are all the ‘must have’ new titles for me that come out this year. I may buy a few older games if they get cheap enough (FIFA 08 and Tiger Woods 08 are on that list) as well but those are the main ones.

2008:The year of the PS3… (and the dilemma’s it creates)

So I’ve had my PS3 since last October and already have 9 games:

Motorstorm, Resistance: Fall of Man, SKATE., Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Assassin’s Creed, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Half Life 2: The Orange Box, WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2008, Need for Speed: Pro Street

This was mainly due to the glut of awesome games that came out in the last 2 months of 07. I was pushing it to find the money to buy them but thanks to my job I finally got them all. And now with the lineup thats coming for PS3 this year it looks like I’m going to be relying on that job of mine again.

Games coming out this year that I wouldn’t mind having

January - Burnout Paradise

February - LOST: Via Domus

March - The Lord of the Rings: The White Council

April - Top Spin 3, Grand Theft Auto IV

May - Mafia 2, Battlefield: Bad Company, Heroes

June - LEGO Indiana Jones

July - Duke Nukem Forever, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

August - none…a break…lol…

September - Prototype, Ghostbusters

October - Gran Turismo 5

November - Call of Duty 5

December - Brutal Legend

The first half of the year is loaded, the second half is a bit quieter. 16 games in 12 months…lol. I’d probably be able to pile 2 onto my birthday and 2 onto christmas. So that works out at 1 a month for the whole of the year…eep. One or two 10+ hour jobs should be able to cover it, but I’m hoping that I’ll get alot more work than that this year.

Natalie Gauci in Malta

After finishing up her month long tour of Australia last Thursday, Natalie jetted off for the small Mediterranean country of Malta, her father’s homeland. She was there to perform at the Malta Song for Europe Festival semi-finals. She was also to perform the National Anthem on Australia Day but was unable to to timing issues.

On the night she performed a reworked version of her debut single ‘Here I Am’, an original song ‘All In My Mind’ and she also did a duet with Maltese Eurovision runner up (2005) Chiara singing ‘Angel’.

Special thanks go to timesofmalta.com for keeping us up to date on the Nat-happenings in Malta.

Howdy

I’ve tried this blogging caper a few times previously…and each time it’s sort of filtered off into nothingness as I got lazier and lazier and soon just couldn’t be arsed writing anything. So what will be different this time around you may ask? Well to tell the truth probably not a lot…lol…however I will make an effort to try and at least update once a week, with..something.
